April 22, 2010 I was trying to think of a way to put together an article about the dangers of “celebrating earth day” (small “e” on purpose, the same way I purposely will not capitalize “pope”, or “satan” and come to think of it, I certainly need to do this with “islam” as well.) Anyway, earth day as it is dubbed, for the tens of millions who will celebrate it is nothing more than worshipping the creation rather than the Creator!! {Romans 1:25}
Sure, we are to be good stewards of resources, but this does not mean going overboard into doopy-loopy land! Not to be worried every time we throw a paper towel away. I can well imagine all the people who will show up at health food stores with tons of green bags, each one trying to outdo the other on who’s the “better person” with the most bags. I can imagine all the lights turned off in order to pay homage to going green. Less TV is probably a good thing for everyone. But sitting in the dark? Only if you have not paid the light bill, I suppose!
At any rate, my own words seem very shallow, so I credit Jan Markell for once again hitting a homer with her very timely article, very well articulated. It came on email & I do not yet see it posted to her site. But I think it’s important enough to post it here in its entirety until the link is made available on her site.
BTW, Romans 1 also talks about those who think they are *wise*, yet they became utter fools – and by giving up the TRUTH OF GOD for a lie (can one “give it up” without first having had it?), He allowed them to go their own way – to their destruction. Pretty sobering and heavy stuff. But these are your pagan tree-hugging “worshippers” of today.
While the world is sitting around in the dark, -- chanting, praying, singing “Kum-Bah-Yah”, I say that those of us who love the Lord should instead be praising HIM, and saying “This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.” For us, there is no such thing as (I nearly choke as I spew these words) “mother earth” but there is FATHER GOD Who is all wise, Who created all things, including this earth, majestic skies, Who created good things that we might enjoy. Perhaps today, for each good thing you see, you might want to offer thanksgiving to heaven. Tulips? “Thank You Lord for making tulips for our pleasure.” Sunset? “Thank You Lord….” Kittens wrestling on the green grass? “Thank You Lord…” You get the idea! Let’s worship THE CREATOR Who creates! In Jesus’ name! AMEN!

Sen. Gaylord Nelson got this launched forty years ago, and you would think with that kind of long history, more would have figured out that church participation in the event is an outrage. In keeping with the tide of the 1960s, he first called it a "National Environmental Teach-In."
All movements and campaigns have their own "bible." For the Earth Day crowd the 1970 book The Environmental Handbook, is their guide. The book states that each tree and stream has its own guardian spirit. And Christianity is hugely at fault for environmental woes. They think we believe that it is God's will to exploit nature (p. 20-21). Thanks to Christianity, we will see a worsening ecological crisis (p. 25).
The book also says, "No technical solution can rescue us from the misery of overpopulation. Freedom to breed will bring ruin to all. The only way we can preserve more precious freedoms is by relinquishing the freedom to breed." (p.49, Garrett Hardin). That's called population control. Just like the global warming crowd, they want a whole lot of us to go away.
On page 324, the book promotes polygamy and group marriage. It pushes for a "revolution of consciousness" and enlightenment while praising Gnostics, hip Marxists, Teilhard de Chardin Catholics, druids, Taoists, witches, Yogins, Bhikkus, Quakers, Sufis, Tibetans, Zens, Shamans, Bushmen, American Indians, Polynesians, anarchists, and alchemists. (p. 331).
But here's the worst news. Take a look at the sacred earth prayer found in this book: "Mother, Father, God, Universal Power -- remind us daily of the sanctity of all life. Touch our hearts with the glorious oneness of all creation as we strive to respect all the living beings on this planet. Penetrate our souls with the beauty of this earth, as we attune ourselves to the rhythm and flow of the seasons. Awaken our minds with the knowledge to achieve a world in perfect harmony and grant us the wisdom to realize that we can have heaven on earth."
So why are evangelicals lured into this? The direct reference to "Mother Earth," "Heaven on earth," and prayer to a "Universal Power," should be huge red flags that "Earth Day" and some related ecology events are pagan events to be shunned. Instead, we have Web sites representing evangelicals who are promoting this big time. One is "Blessed Earth: Serving God and Saving the Planet." According to the Bible, we are to be good stewards of the Earth, but we cannot save it. Only God can.
The Bible says, "For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs" (Romans 8:22) as it waits Earth's real liberation -- the return of Christ. I guess we "end-times watchers" continually mess up various agendas, including honoring the cause of the "Blessed Earth."
One Christian ecology site states, "I found God's Holy Spirit is convicting and calling Christians from all over the world to repent for the damage we have done, and to care for God's Earth." The "Blessed Earth" site folks want us to "wake up on Earth Day with a whole new spirit of serving God and saving the planet." But why are Christians being asked to unite with the darkness represented in some of the above-mentioned statements? Aren't we supposed to separate from them?
In the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) March e-newsletter, the leadership encourages us to participate in the "Blessed Earth" activities, including the "Blessed Earth" live Web cast on April 21.
The Evangelical Environmental Network (EEN) has a wide source of Bible studies based on saving the planet from environmental destruction. I maintain we need Bible studies on saving people from eternal destruction.
Then we have the Green Bible. It boasts that there are twice as many Bible references about Earth as there are about Heaven! I can't make things like this up! It has testimonials by spiritual giants Brian McLaren and Desmond Tutu.
Make no mistake that "Earth Day" does represent a "religion." It is the religion of "Mother Earth". This is not a kind of faith that evangelicals have paid much attention to until the last 15 years.
God cares about the creation and does not want Christians or anyone else abusing it. His care didn't stop after six days. It says in Psalm 104: 5 and 24, that,"You set the earth on its foundations, so that it shall never be shaken -- O Lord, how manifold are your works! In wisdom you have made them all; the earth is full of your creatures."
The command that human beings are given to steward or manage the Earth is both a huge privilege and a great responsibility. It carries with it immense power for good or evil.
Creation is something good. It reflects the goodness and character of God. He made it. He loves it. We need to treat it properly. But what I am reading makes "creation care" the number-one issue on which some organizations wish us to focus. Nowhere on creation care sites do I read of evangelism programs or how to grow in the faith. I see only the exaltation of the planet and how we must intervene lest it destroy itself, or worse yet, mankind destroys it.
I close with wise words from Berit Kjos: "I wanted to be part of God's team of Earth stewards who helped take care of His creation. I still do. But finding like-minded team members in our fast-changing culture has become complicated. The beliefs and practices associated with ecology stray far beyond biblical bounds -- even in the church. My first exposure to unbiblical environmentalism under the banner of Christianity came in 1990. I had driven to a mainline church some distance from my home to see how God's people would celebrate Earth Day. Watching the worship, I wondered if the Creator Himself would have been welcome. At one point, the members of the youth group stepped forward to present their offerings."
The pains on the earth stem from the Fall in the Garden. We are waiting for Him to solve the problem of the global curse with His return. In the meantime, let's be the best stewards of the Eearth that we can be.

Jerusalem And The Mark Of The Beast
April 4, 2010 Hi all; Happy Resurrection Season!! ~ I’ve been delayed in updating here ~ I hope readership has not fallen off…. It’s pretty hard to update when you’re laying with your leg held straight up in the air (slipped on ice early Feb., resulting in a severely broken ankle ~ it’s not been an easy row to hoe, I’ll tell you that much.) Add infection to that…. Add another sprained foot to that….major surgery, doctor visit after doctor visit; physical therapy, pain, pain, pain, inc. physical, spiritual, emotional, ~and~ mental, forgetfulness & confusion (thx to anesthesia & meds), extreme fatigue, etc. etc. etc. If you’re in the camp of thinking a broken ankle is “no big deal” ~ think again. It’s a huge deal when it’s broken on every side. I was told it’ll take a whole year to see “what I’m left with” and that the likelihood of it swelling for the rest of my life is probable. That news would have totally bummed me, if it wasn’t for clinging to our Blessed Hope. Overall, this whole episode has been pretty traumatic.
You really find out who your friends are at such times…. or in some cases, “aren’t”… Scripture says that a friend loves at all times, and a real friend sticks closer than a brother. But in THESE DAYS, people – the closest of kin, the best of friends, families who live together, are betraying one another. Well… “Our Father SAID there’d be days like this!”
A real friend who cares, one with a compassionate heart – if offended over the course of the relationship would say something, in which case, you (or I) could then ask forgiveness, the whole mess could be settled & all could move on. Simple as that. However, in these dark days, people get irritated and mad over practically nothing and then poison whole households against others.
In these days, friends wound their friends deeply. They kick up their heels against each other. They choose to believe the very worst about people (perhaps to “justify” their own goodness – at least in their own eyes?) Good timing to insert this great quote: “Truly it is evil to be full of faults, but it a still greater evil to be full of them, and to be unwilling to recognize them.” --Blaise Pascal, 1623-1662
The sincere friend never purposely bring harm to their friends in any way. They have nothing but their friends’ best interest and welfare at heart. Sometimes, in being giddy & playful, silly little comments will be made in jest, and hopefully the friendship is strong enough to accept a little bit of jest, in joking and (good naturedly, wholesomely) laughing with each other. Sometimes it’s easy to kick into a delightful, giddy mood when enjoying the company of someone you like & esteem so highly….. someone you call a friend & mean it from the heart.
If you have experienced any such hurt of losing friends, of being betrayed, just remember that Jesus had His Judas Iscariot and King David had his Ahithophel…. Both good friends at one time, who had even gone to church together, who shared meals together, who were dear companions, and then…. they bitterly turned on them. ….Such are the END DAYS, folks! I know that’s of little consolation as you work so hard to recover and overcome and continue on about life. But truly, Jesus is the One Who promises never to leave nor forsake you! He will be with you [speaking to born again, currently & continually ABIDING IN THE VINE Christians here!] clear to the end of the age. Allow HIM to be your “BEST FRIEND”!! ~ One Who will truly never depart or leave you!! Even when you pull an “oops”, fall down, skin your knees, get your feet dirty again, or make a silly little comment. Or when He sees your worst side (because deep down, He knows your heart & how you do not purposely, deliberately sin!) He knows you want to live right! And that you are sadly deepened to have hurt Him again. We are not perfect Christians ~ yet. But one of the best things about heaven is we will never sin against Him ever again. And further, all human misunderstandings will be cleared up once and for all.
Over the years, and to my own shame & detriment, even during my life as a Christian, yes even as a “mature” Christian, there have been times (too often) when my sins have “been many”. I’ve never claimed to be a perfected saint ~ yet! But I do hate sinning,…. I hate it soo very much when I let this tongue have too much control, when I’m in the old flesh nature, when I say things I truly don’t mean (and immediately & from then on regret!)…. Just line up behind me on Judgment Day if you wish – to see all that “smoke” from wood, hay and stubble, and to see what I must give account for. Certainly nothing I’m proud of, that’s for sure!
But… I have not bugged other people’s homes to see what their sins consists of…. I’ve got news for everyone: God is doing more than “bugging your house”!! HE is “bugging your heart”!! For some, that’s actually good news. But for most, that’s probably NOT good news. The heart is deceitful above all things; examine yourself, see if you be found in the faith, see if you’re wagging your tongue too much or poisoning others against people {interesting/sad that we’re SUPPOSED to “love one another” ~ yet in these end days, it’s anything BUT love…. It’s more along the lines of betraying each other, turning on each other, out & out despising and hating each other} If we harbor hatred in our hearts, Scripture says we are a murderers…. And murderers do not inherit heaven.} Naturally, I’m speaking GENERALLY & GENERIC to the audience here!! But if this description matches anything going on in your life, um, you might earnestly want to repent of that….??
Wolves in sheep’s clothing, folks! Hard to tell the tares from the wheat any more. Aren’t we glad that the Lord will sort it all out in the end?!
Guess what? Jesus is coming soon!! I hope seeing Him is YOUR blessed hope & that you are looking forward to it. Could be a lot sooner than most think. Certainly it’s going to happen and leave the rest of the world in shock, in surprise, in a stupor… and in a SNARE.
I bet you’re up to date on this, but just in case you have not read or heard – the “HELL-CARE” bill that recently passed in the U.S. will eventually require everyone to receive a CHIP!! Hmm!! You see, according to this new healthcare law, when it comes into fruition, it provides the exact framework that’ll make the United States the first nation in the entire world that’ll require every single one of its citizens to be implanted with a radio-frequency identification microchip (RFID) The purpose will be to ultimately control who will be ~ or will not be ~ allowed medical attention in this country…. Just for starters…. After that, their financial data, and perhaps spiritual matters, too…. It would certainly seem that the “evil powers that be” want to implement this tracking tech (chip) very, very badly & they certainly aim to do it one way or another!
********* INSERT new thought: when I was updating this site earlier, I’d failed to mention that I do not believe that O’s healthcare chip is THE mark; but even so, if all is to be set up for the REAL Antichrist to take his stand, this is certainly a precursor. I’m pretty sure I would not want O’s chip to be in me anyway!! So, what do we do then? Pray that the rapture happens before it is mandatory to take it. BTW, when I was riding in the ambulance on the way to the hospital that dark, Feb. night, I couldn’t help thinking just HOW BAD the Tribulation is going to be…. I ALWAYS KNEW it would BE bad….. but I thought ~ well for some, it would be a matter of hiding out from the AntiChrist & his cronies for 3.5 years (that is, providing it’s approx. middle of the Tribulation before his “mark” is required)…. And starving, unless being able to find grasses, berries if they’re lucky, and perhaps a few bugs, etc. to eat….. but then it also dawned on me that if/when someone gets a broken bone – then OUCH, s/he will not even be able to go to the hospital/doctor for it to be “repaired”. My DH says well doctors – some, will go “underground” to help people. Possible. But I sure don’t see how they can get operating rooms & staff underground. It’s gonna’ be tough, no doubt about it ~ don’t suppose you wanna’ be here for it?
Back to this HELL-care biz…. Does it seem to you (American Christian, or those who are abroad reading about what’s going on in this country) that SIDES are being taken – that it was almost such an evenly SPLIT – those for it—those against it – nearly right down the middle…. And what with individual states preparing to sue the federal gov’t so as not to have this forced upon the people living there, well – put it this way: Jeremiah 51:46 pegs it ENTIRELY!!! ~ there will be violence in this nation – ruler against ruler!! Another translation says: governor against governor; and as I’ve previously mentioned, this health care bill sure FITS THE BILL … it has all the shadowing of turning into that… the civil war that will take place in this nation ~ the Daughter of Babylon ~ during the Tribulation.
Only more reason for us to look up, up, up!! If Jesus is to come while the days of “normalcy” are still going on ~ well, one can only wonder how many of those days we have left before the whole land erupts into violence.
Oh! And since I am so convinced that America is the daughter of Babylon (per Jeremiah 50, and 51 and Isaiah); I can’t help but wonder if this country will delete (lay down) all nuke weapons at some point– hence, this would be the reason for not responding when enemies are encroaching & destroying this country during the Tribulation per Jer 50 & 51. One democrat relative claims this country is no where close to socialism – compared to the countries that are REALLY entrenched in it. He is right, of course, but even so, this country is teetering on the brinks of it – FAR CLOSER than I ever thought it’d be!! Praying for God’s grace to sustain us till the Lord calls us Home!
Here’s how things may POSSIBLY happen – this has been filtering thru’ my head, heart, and spirit for the past few months ~ and then, boom, imagine my surprise when surfing a mb one day and a poster made suggestions along these same lines. We’ve both been wrong before, and this is not a “thus saith the Lord” or anything like that – just merely what MAY/could happen!! Rapture may possibly happen at some point during the spring ~ then WAR (particularly Is. 17) in the summer ~ then while the world is regrouping from that & getting even more hellishly mad at Israel ~ then Mr. “here I am to save the day” with a big “AC” painted across his chest in red (only kidding about that part) confirms the covenant, perhaps some time in early fall.
3.5 years later, you’d have Jews leaving Judea, running to Petra ~ that’d again be in the spring. And 7 years later (after the confirmation of the covenant) then the Lord would be returning with His saints – perhaps, maybe, maybe sometime around Yom Kippur. This scenario would also fulfill Amos 8 ~ whether that’s referring to the timing of the rapture of the 2nd coming.
I used to think that the AntiChrist may take the reigns of the world nearly overnight, on the heels of the rapture. Could happen. I certainly do not think it would take years (otherwise another entire generation of lost people on their way to hell). But now days it makes so much sense to me that the world will stand together and throw their backing to one man – and thus, this could take a handful of months,…??... as they iron things out – the “one world religion”, and the “one world monetary system”, and of course, the biggest news of the day – camera lights will be flashing constantly as this particular man will seemingly bring peace to the Mideast. It will be someone who has the backing of the 10 other thrones, thus representing the world.
BTW, interesting to note, that Rick Warren and Tony Blair are now partnering together in Blair’s faith foundation – Warren, representing the ahem, {cough, sputter, choke!} “Christian” religion – has he not been grooming for this mission for a long, long time?! No, I honestly don’t know if Blair’s gonna’ be the man…. But he’s been in the limelight for as long as I’ve remained suspicious…and continues to this day pushing for MidEast peace.
Switching gears now...in one commentary from last fall I wrote the following: “I would like to expound on the “personal relationship with Jesus”… maybe it’s just me, but I never have been overly fond of that phrase…. I well-realize that some who have a ahem, “personal relationship with Jesus” can be true Christians, but often is the case: they want him as “a buddy ~ a friend” ~ but want to totally ignore the obedience part! {certainly not saying this is true of the writer above, as I do not even know him…. Just merely making these observations from people I do know who claim they have a “personal relationship with Jesus” ~ and then, holiness & obedience is tossed out the window}”
The line about “people I do know” was not in any way, fashion or form directed at anyone PERSONALLY!!! If anyone took it that way (unless it just happen to hit a nerve with you… perhaps a guilty conscience??.. -- while I was speaking generically) … otherwise, you would have been dead wrong.
BTW, not that I should have to explain myself – but in this case I will ~ the “people I do know” (who like to use the broad claim they have a “RELATIIONSHIP” with Jesus, (and yet, they live like the devil) were from a 20 year run at the “country club Baptist Church” where we used to attend. And so, for nigh on 20 years, I always heard this “we’ve got a relationship with Jesus” motto. Yes, they knew ABOUT Jesus, that He’s God’s Son; resurrected; they knew all about grace (cheap grace per Jude 1:4) and thus, made the CLAIM that they “HAVE” a “personal relationship with Him” ~ these people are TARES, look-alike Christians, who can be distinguished BY THEIR FRUIT. And their fruit is rotten ~ it’s the same fruit of the world. In fact, even though they show up at church every time the doors are open, yet they live like the world, and you cannot tell them apart.
When the pastor (ex, in this case) is sleeping with the congregation…. He is NOT obeying the Word!! REGARDLESS of “I’ve got a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with Jesus” mantra… Next church ~ it was found out the pastor was sleeping with men (eih-gads!)….next church, some mean-spirited (though they didn’t see it that way) little old ladies ran off the pastor because…. Why? His “big sin”: he failed to live up to their expectations as he could not be all things to all people. {It was really over such an incredibly small thing…. Almost laughable in fact…. But instead, actually sad that they ousted him because of that…}
“20-20 hindsight” and whose not been blessed (or cursed) with that? I wish I would have made this site more into a Biblical framework of “here’s what’s going to happen in Bible prophecy” & left off most all the personal commentaries. But…. Is it too late for that? Well, I aim to keep working on it till the trumpet “toots”, so we shall see…. The Lord only knows how much time we’ve got left…. Time continues to march forward in at a super speed... A long-time email friend basically sums up the current watching situation this way: “Well it seems Israel and Iran are in a fight and Obama is like-not my problem and insulting Israel and all and now China is getting involved. Sounds familiar.” Hahah – is she just too cool or what? And to think ~ here I could have just saved 5 pages worth of typing! But hope & pray that something I’ve had to say has blessed you in some way, the Lord willing.
Praying for the peace of Jerusalem (now even the U.S. is/has turned against her!!) ~ with the U.S. (Israel’s one true ally turning against her, then how close till the whole world turns against her?? SOON!!! CLOSE!!) ~ and also I join you in praying that we will be HOME with Jesus before the year is out. Spring works well for me! We shall soon see!
Don’t know about the rest of you – but for the “serious” watchers, I get sooo *blamed* tired of all the constant date-setting…. I say that, but then there are days I want (even need) to be reminded myself that our homecoming is so very soon. Even so, the day itself can NOT be known, I don’t care who you are or what a great & mighty Bible “scholar” you are. I don’t mean to sound mean…. As iron sharpens iron…. And when people start guessing specific dates, remember it’s always *another day* in another part of the world! I guess I often come off like a hypocrite — the pot calling the kettle black sort of thing — don’t mean to. I realize that, for years, I have suggested & dropped hints of the season in which I think (and certainly hope) we might find ourselves “air lifted” to the clouds; but I don’t think I’ve ever come out & said ~ okay, April 7th!! ~ that’s the day!! Hahah…. Or alluded to at 3:11 in the afternoon—have your bags packed!
You’ll likely notice even some of the most avid prophecy teachers tend to waver on thinking we could be right at the door to thinking, hmm, well, maybe within a few years…. I’ve caught many doing that. This is why we keep our confidence in God; not man. We keep watching, no matter who tells us to relax & stop watching… regardless of who tells us it’s not going to be any time soon. And we watch especially when ALL these things (prophetic signposts) happen simultaneously!
At any rate, ~ just about the time I get to telling myself it could be another couple years yet – every single time I say that… then BOOM, another big quake some where! Have you noticed DIVERSE places – and big ones at that?! Popping about like popcorn! We MAY have a few more years (at the outside); or a few months, or possibly we could be down to a few weeks… even days. It’s the Lord’s call. But it certainly appears that our time is at hand.
“Even so, COME LORD JESUS”!! While never knowing the exact day, we hope & pray for a springtime harvest, and it will be so ~ if Lord so wills! A mighty big MARANATHA!!

And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.
***1 Cor 15:50-52 Take notice! I tell you a mystery (a secret truth, an event decreed by the hidden purpose or counsel of God). We shall not all fall asleep [in death] but we shall all be changed (transformed). In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the [sound of the] last trumpet call. For a trumpet will sound and the dead (in Christ) will be raised imperishable (free and immune from decay) and we shall be changed (transformed).
